Three indigenous grapes from Ribera del Guadiana region; they are Cayetana Blanca, Montua and Pardina. Being original: no other winery but VINA SANTA MARINA is making wine out of Montua grape.
Montua has a gentle characteristic; so Cayetana is required as it can offer rich acidity to the wine.
Recovering this historical table grape from Extremadura, nearly lost nowaday; these vines came from a 25 years old vineyard with clay on chalky soil. An on the ground irrigation system offer water drop by drop when rain was insufficient. This wine offering a rich essence of Vino de la Tierra de Extremadura; it means that this wine has a particular character: you can feel the fruit, we try to get a good balance between the fruit and the oak, using mainly french oak since we think this is more elegant and delicate.
This Cuvee : Montua 80%, Cayetana 10% and Pardina 10%; give a pale bright greenish hue, characteristic aromas of white flowers gives it an original and expressive nose, white fruit and aromatic herbs; fresh mouth with notes of spices and fine herbs. Very original, smartly dry, it will surprise you!
The name of Gargola was created at first harvest; it took place under the shadow of a medieval church in ruins with impressive gargoyles… as gargoyle channels water out of a roof; associating Gargola pours wine into your glass.
