Torremayor is a Denomination of Origin wine from the beginning; this was one of our first wines. As you know, wine-maker Yolanda (our Director and Oenologist) was the General Manager of the Regulatory Council "Ribera del Guadiana" for more than 6 years. This wine is more bodied and structured than Equus, there is a clear presence of the oak barrel (new french and american oak, aged for 16 months!) but still very balanced and very well integrated with the fruit. It is also complex. When you drink high quality wines you just love them! good fruit/oak integration, respecting the origin: the grape, lively color of garnet red cherry color. Fine aroma with a good expression of ripe berries well integrated with the wood. Flavorful, fresh palate of red fruit with slightly marked tannins, yet pleasant. Enthusiast of Spanish Crianza wines with a touch of sophistication. The way it hits the glass tells us something about its harmonious body. Dark purple nuances on Bigarreau cherries red are a testament to thoroughness winemaking practices and long ageing in French and American oak casks. It combines the aromas of the grape variety with fermentation and ageing. The fore-palate is smooth, giving way to a rich, lush texture, until revealing the aromas of berries and sweet and toasted woods. This wine was made from carefully selected old Tempranillo vines and the grapes were hand picked. Ideal accompaniment with well flavored cheeses, roasted meats, rich pasta dishes, traditional Mediterranean cuisine and Cantonese cuisine.
